We’ve been designing “from a distance” for 14 years, long before video conferencing was cool. There are two ways we make it work:

1. For renovations, we’ll send a technician to your property to do a 3D scan, which gives us all the measurements we need, down to the millimetre! (Far more accurate than measuring by hand.) For new builds & extensions, we’ll request any architectural drawings or building documents from you.
2. You’ll be guided through our finely-tuned process for collecting your desired project objectives, inspiration images, important lifestyle details, and more. We’ll have all the info we need to create a timeless Façade Design Plan that is personal, to-budget, and ready to hand off to your builder, trades, or drafty.

Absolutely. Our process is founded on a collaborative approach for precisely that reason. It’s your home, and you deserve to be heard and represented in the design. Your project starts with a thoughtful questionnaire and a briefing meeting where we discuss everything — from your goals, your home and your Pinterest inspiration, to your lifestyle, your budget, your practical needs, and more.

The design phase of our process also includes several checkpoints where we share our concepts, gather your feedback, iterate, and get approval before moving forward. This happens often, and Jane is somewhat of a “couples whisperer” in that she’s able to blend design desires in a way that feels whole and cohesive, without anyone feeling they’ve compromised. We work very hard to ensure we understand your likes and dislikes through inspiration images, our questionnaire, and style exploration during our initial briefing meeting. Our process is thoughtfully crafted to do the “deep work” — with info-gathering, your briefing meeting, and structured feedback requests every step of the way. This ensures you’re always confident in the direction before moving to the next step.

For this reason, 99% of our clients find that our two official rounds of changes are more than enough. If you decide you need more, we’re happy to offer it as an add-on relative to the scope required. We’ll be very transparent with you about any related costs before you choose this direction.

Jane makes sure you’re confident in the design, in the materials selected (for quality, Australia’s demanding climate, easy maintenance, etc.), and in the investment you’re making.
